The Most Cybersecure Companies?
Quantum's Role Not Yet Included
In June, 2023, Forbes published an article titled “America’s Most Cybersecure Companies”. I was intrigued. The article listed the “top 200 U.S.-based companies whose website security and cybersecurity infrastructure make them best-in-class.”
Yet not one mention of quantum technology.
Only one month later, Analytics Insight published an article titled “Quantum Computing Impact on Cybersecurity Sector” arguing quantum technology was “revolutionizing the cybersecurity sector”. Which is it?
The top companies in the Forbes list were measured on network security, potential malware exploits, regularity of patches, and the robustness of the company’s cybersecurity team. Apparently quantum readiness and agility are yet to be required components to achieve this class.
In this substack, I’ll explore the current state of quantum cybersecurity and its role in achieving a top class mention in the future.
