Since 2014, when I first became aware of the potential applications of artificial intelligence in business (in that case early machine learning/ML applications in fraud management), there has been steady progress in the technology. In November 2022 however, when Open AI released ChatGPT-3.5, the AI industry changed forever. it exploded to over 100 million users just two months after launch. Since then it has been a waterfall of new add-ons and versions with large numbers of end users for hundreds of generativeAI based applications for images, text, voice cloning and more.
When might we expect a similar moment for quantum? This is my thought experiment of the day.
