When organizations are rapidly trying to understand the technology world around them as it evolves, they are charging their leaders to gather what I refer to as “quantum intelligence” or QI. QI is not limited to technological advances. Rather it incorporates a wide array of information related to 100-year old science moving quickly into the commercial space.

Quantum Intelligence
So what does QI include?
Trend data
Investment activity
National programs
Talent supply and demand
Advances in communication, computing, sensing and cryptography
National and international policies
Software and algorithm advances
Fidelity levels for NISQ and FTQC
Vendors and consortium lists
Conferences, podcasts, blogs
Job boards
Forecasts and predictions
And more…
Global Quantum Intelligence, LLC
Five years I was introduced to the Quantum Computing Report published by Doug Finke, a longtime industry observer. Fast-forward to 2024 and Doug is part of an organization called Global Quantum Intelligence (GQI) with co-founders Andre Konig and David Shaw. I refer to them as the “Insighters”; a team that drives vast amounts of information into concise insights for business leaders. Andre shared the GQI founding story in 2023 at Quantum.Tech.
GQI states “We provide trusted data, insights, analysis and intelligence in quantum tech. To users, vendors, governments and investors globally. Through the leading experts & technology in the industry.” The founders and their teams can easily back up such claims with years of experience in the various dimensions of quantum. You’ll find them at conferences around the world and on LinkedIn media. Larger teams exist, yet few have the breadth and depth of experience inherent in Global Quantum Intelligence.
Summary
Finding credible advisors and information sources can be a full time job for IT leaders. The journey however is worth the effort to reduce risk and remain competitive. Future substacks will focus on other QI teams in the quantum ecosystem.
Brian Lenahan is founder and chair of the Quantum Strategy Institute, author of seven Amazon published books on quantum technologies and artificial intelligence. Brian’s focus on the practical side of technology ensures you will get the guidance and inspiration you need to gain value from quantum now and into the future. Brian does not purport to be an expert in each field or subfield for which he provides science communication.
Brian’s books are available on Amazon. Quantum Strategy for Business course is available on the QURECA platform.
